Protecting Children, Protecting our Future

This program highlights the needs for child protection in the Philippines.  This isn't just a month; it's a call for sustained action addressing the causes of child abuse, including poverty, lack of education, and harmful cultural norms.  Punishing abusive people is insufficient; we must invest in prevention through family strengthening programs, early childhood development, and economic empowerment. I remembered "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" is a line that was delivered by the national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal which I, myself agreed. So I believe that we must care for children responsibly.

Creating a safe environment for them requires all of us or basically, it requires collaboration. We need to make a culture of respect and protection for children, where reporting abuse is normalized and victims receive support without judgment.  This public awareness campaigns, training for professionals working with children, and the active involvement of all sectors – government, religious organizations, schools, and communities can make this successful.

In conclusion, success depends on collaboration.  It's a shared responsibility demanding collective action and sustained commitment. Only through a holistic approach can we achieve a Philippines where every child thrives in safety and security, fulfilling the promise of the month's theme.
